Generali Insurance, Prague

Next to the Hotel Central, Friedrich Ohmann managed to accomplish the whole range of outstanding buildings during his stay in Prague. Here belong The Products Stock, Villa Kramar (which is the residence of Czech Prime Minister today) or also the Generali Insurance Building. A little differently than his more radical colleague Otto Wagner, Ohmann tried to develop his idea of Art Nouveau style taking examples from Historicism. This made him more understandable for his contemporaries, but despite his high quality works, impeded the formation of his personal style.
